In the old days of the Lazareto (the quarantine Island) of Menorca, Spain, the priest would come in a central chapel and distribute consecrated bread using a long silver spoon to the isolated persons. Those were waiting behind bars in two semi-circular buildings (one for the "suspect" ward and one for the "infected" ward).
