そば - Landing in Tokyo

Day one. Almost 10 years that I had not been in Japan. The fascination is still the same. The use of technology is specific and heterogeneous, mixing advanced electronic touch screens with 1970s style keyboards that get punched making the noise of a mechanical type writer. I also bumped into two of my olds friends. First, the kangis, the Chinese characters. They are a bit different at time, and the dictionary says: ‘Japanese variation of’. Second, the soba noodles. But, this time, I got to try the version with eggplants. It’s a match made in heaven.
